TRIBUNLOMBOK.COM, MATARAM – The lively afternoon atmosphere at Teras Udayana, Mataram City has been buzzing with excitement since the opening of the Ramadan Village on February 20th and will continue until March 1st. This event boasts 41 local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) tenants, making it a must-visit spot for locals seeking authentic iftar culinary while immersing themselves in the charm of the village amidst the city’s vibrant energy.

Salsa (26), the organizer from Fajar Spesh, shared that this is the second time the Ramadan Village graces the same location.

“Last year, by the grace of God, it was a resounding success, and this year, we’re thrilled to host it again for the second time,” she said.

The number of tenants has seen a significant jump compared to last year, which was between 32 and 35. “This year, we have 40 MSME tenants and 1 photobooth tenant. Our mission is to support local MSMEs, both those who are already well-known and those who are just starting their businesses,” Salsa added.

The event was officially kicked off by Mrs. Leni Oktavia, the Secretary of the Mataram City Tourism Office, representing the Head of the Office who is currently performing the Umrah pilgrimage. In her words, Mrs. Leni expressed the government’s unwavering support for activities that foster the growth of local MSMEs and contribute to the city’s thriving tourism industry.

The event is also supported by the Mataram City Government and the Mataram City Tourism Office. Salsa hopes this Culinary Village can continue to be held not only during Ramadan but also at other times so MSME entrepreneurs can keep thriving and growing.

One MSME participant, Mrs. Rohani (40), who joined the event for the first time, admitted she was nervous but excited.

“I’m still nervous because this is my first time participating. I hope my products sell well and run out quickly,” she said.

Visitors also praised the Ramadan Village concept. Mr. Didin, one of the visitors, said, “From what I see, the atmosphere truly reflects the name ‘culinary village.’ It feels like going back to a village, but in the middle of the city. Very authentic!”

With the increase in tenants, government support, and participation from new MSMEs, this year’s Ramadan Village at Teras Udayana has not only become a center for iftar cuisine but also brings togetherness and village spirit to the heart of Mataram City.

The enthusiasm of residents crowding the bazaar area proves that this event is highly anticipated and has a positive impact on the local economy.
